Creative Cause filly shines in stakes debut

She’screative went from maiden winner to a stakes winner on Saturday with her 2 ¼-length victory in Saturday’s $75,000 Shine Young Futurity at Evangeline Downs.

The 2-year-old filly is Creative Cause’s fourth stakes winner this year. With his other three black type horses all having two stakes wins a piece this year, Creative Cause is one of only two Second-Crop Sires who have accounted for seven stakes races wins in 2017.

She’screative got away in good order and was in a contested battle for the lead with Eye Craft on her outside after the first quarter-mile. The duo were right together nearly the entire trip, with She’screative pulling clear in the final sixteenth to secure the win in 1:06.53 for the 5 ½-furlongs on a sloppy main track (VIDEO).

She’screative has now won $60,600 for her owner/breeder Thomas Holyfield. Her dam She’s a Rebel Too is also responsible for Top Flight Inv. (G3) winner Mo’ Green.
