  • Yankee Gentleman is the ONLY son of Storm Cat ever to have run a six furlong stakes as fast as his 1:07 4/5 in Del Mar’s Pirate’s Bounty Stakes of 2003. This effort was the second fastest six-furlong stakes of 2003 and his resulting 117 Beyer was second highest of the year at six furlongs.

    Yankee Gentleman won his first career start by 11 at Gulfstream and then romped by five in a 1 1/16-mile feature at Belmont. His dam won her first five starts, all but her maiden being stakes and including the G1 Santa Monica Handicap.
