The Grade III Arlington Classic card was turned into ‘Ladies’ Day” on Saturday, as Istan’s supremely talented 3yo daughter Istanford soundly defeated the boys in the graded Arlington fixture. Immediately sent to the front against the heralded group of sophomore colts, Ike and Dawn Thrash’s color bearer repelled all challenges in winning off impressively in wire to wire fashion. Istanford becomes Istan’s third graded-stakes 3-year-old star of 2014, joining Albano and Myositis Dan. From a crop of only 12 3-year-olds, this represents a remarkable strike rate for this up and coming sire son of the great Gone West. Congratulations to all the connections of this standout Istan filly!
