A Graded Stakes winner every season he raced, he earned over $1.6 million
Brilliant from the start, he won on debut at Gulfstream Park running his last 1/16th of a mile in 5.74 to vanquish his 12 rivals
In just his third lifetime start he surged to win the $250,000 G2 American Turf S. on Derby Day at Churchill Downs posting a 22.63 quarter mile, followed by sizzling final 1/16th in 5.54 seconds
Following that effort, he set a new track record in the Pennine Ridge S. at Belmont Park defeating the Chad Brown Graded-winning duo of Takeover Target and Startup Nation as well as G1 winner and subsequent Eclipse Champion, World Approval.
He posted signature victories in two runnings of the G1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic on consecutive Derby Days, defeating turf stars including Beach Patrol, Bal A Bali, Tourist, Big Blue Kitten, Midnight Storm, Bolo, Oscar Nominated, World Approval, etc.
He was beaten only ¾ of a length when 4th in a blanket finish in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Mile at Churchill Downs, and was only 1 ½ lengths behind Bowie’s Hero in his career finale, the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland
In all, he posted 13 Triple-digit Beyers and 26 single-digit Ragozins
Divisidero earned the same best Ragozin (4”) and top Beyer Speed Figure (104) as another leading stallion son of Kitten’s Joy, Oscar Performance
Bred by Hinkle Farms, Divisidero was purchased by Josh Stevens for $250,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale
His dam, Madame du Lac is a Lemon Drop Kid daughter of Geisha Girl by Nashwan, the great European racehorse who was unique in winning the 2000 Guineas, Epsom Derby, Eclipse S. and King George VI S. in his 3yo season. Geisha Girl’s dam is Miznah, a Sadler’s Wells daughter of La Dame Du Lac, herself a Round Table daughter of the immortal Cosmah.
A direct descendant of Cosmah, Divisidero is from the immediate female family of breed-shaping stallions such as Northern Dancer, Halo, Danehill, and many others.
