Stamping himself as one of the nation’s hottest handicap horses, Proud Citizen’s talented son It Happened Again ran his 2011 record to a perfect 3 for 3 with his impressive win in Saturday’s GIII Razorback Handicap at Oaklawn. Trained by leading trainer Steve Asmussen, It Happened Again was tackling a formiddable group, led by graded stakes stars Thisksyhasnolimit, Win Willy and Winslow Homer, but proved a convincing winner to lay claim to the title of the best older horse at Oaklawn Park. It Happened Again’s big win could prove a proper beginning to a year that has great potential for Proud Citizen, as his son Trickmeiseter looks to have every chance at being one of the nation’s top older horses while his two-year-old crop represents the best book of mares he has bred to date. Congratulations to owner Maggi Moss and breeder Dr. Dede McGehee!
