Another dominant winner for Cairo Prince

Prince Pierce drew off with complete authority in the Prairie Meadows stretch to win his debut by 8 1/2-lengths on July 26 (VIDEO).

The 2-year-old colt is the second winner for First-Crop sire Cairo Prince, whose first winner, Abyssinian, was a seven-length winner in his Belmont Park debut.

Prince Pierce was head-to-head with Knox Court for the first three furlongs, but quickly accelerated at the top of the stretch to separate himself from the field and was hand-ridden to the wire to get the 5 1/2-furlongs in 1:05.48.

The winner is owned by Mark Breen and bred by Hinkle Farms. Breen purchased the gray colt for $60,000 out of the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling sale.

Prince Pierce is the second foal out of Nathan’s Mom Becky, whose dam Bedroom Blues was a three-time stakes winner of $586,569.

Cairo Prince, who has been booked full all four of his breeding seasons, has been among the top five of all first-crop sires by 2-year-old average price ($140,426) and yearlings of 2017 ($150,786).
