BWANA CHARLIE scored a very impressive win in Saturday’s Amsterdam Stakes (G2). Winning trainer Steve Asmussen said “It takes a great horse to win a stakes here and this one solidifies him as one of the top three-year-old sprinters in the country”.
Bwana Charlie broke slowly and was settled far back to trail the swift pace, he began closing the lengthy gap at the quarter poll, rolled out at the turn and closed briskly on the favorite Pomeroy, pulling away from that rival for a 3/4 length strong finish.
