BWANA CHARLIE, hero of the G2 Amsterdam Stakes earlier this year, just missed the place in this years Breeders’ Cup sprint, coming eight wide into the stretch from the rear of the field he was full out in the final furlong with the field stretched across the track for a very tight finish. Three-year-old BWANA CHARLIE showed that he was extremely tough against older sprinters and we look forward to more from this game Assmussen trainee.
On the same Saturday at Keeneland fellow 3YO colt CHACHACHARLIE was let go at 10-1 in a $52,000 Allowance at 7 furlongs and went wire to wire to win by a widening 5 1/2 lengths.
