On the Southern California shoreline, Saturday, August 2nd, Siphonizer won his first start as a 2yo! At 5 1/2 furlongs, this son of Siphon finished in 1:03.4 and led by 3/4 lengths at the wire.
Siphonizer has the connections to succeed: owned by B. Wayne Hughes and trained by Richard Mandella. The juvenile’s Del Mar debut saw him speeding four wide before he gained the advantage leaving the turn. He was kept to his task by David Flores and held on gamely.
The dark bay colt went through the sale ring at Fasig Tipton last July for $275,000 and is out of the Northern Prospect mare, Thesky’sthelimit.
