FOREST CAMP COLT IS ONE OF THE TOP SELLING YEARLINGS ON THE FIRST DAY AT FASIG-TIPTON JULY KENTUCKY SALE!

Forest Camp was well represented in the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July selected yearling sale in Lexington with 11 yearlings offered and 9 sold.  One of the highest prices for the day was Hip #110, bringing a final bid of $450,000 for a bay son of Forest Camp out of Cope’s Light (by Copelan); who is a half brother to Political Attack and Zillah the Hun who are both by Hawk Attack.  The colt was purchased from the Brereton C. Jones consigment by John Connelly and will be going to Bob Baffert to train.

Forest Camp, in his second career start, destroyed three future Grade 1 winners Dixie Union and Captain Steve and Commendable in the G2 Del Mar Futurity at 7 furlongs running a 106 Beyer (a huge number for a 2YO at that time of the year).  Forest Camp was always very highly thought of because of that brilliance and it carried over into his stud career with his first weanlings averaging $75,000 and a median six times his original stud fee.
