Coming off a fantastic yearling sale season that saw his progeny average over $75,000, Friends Lake continued to build momentum with his first crop as he was represented by a standout $450,000 2-year-old in Ocala’s initial breeze sale. A $140,000 yearling, the strapping colt was the talk of the Ocala backside in the days leading up to the sale and justified the hype by drawing a final bid of $450,000 from leader owner Padua stables. All in all, Friends Lake concluded the sale as the 2nd leading freshman sire by average, a truly remarkable accomplishment for a $15,000 stallion.
