Front-running Shea D Summer prevails in Game Face S.

Summer Front’s 3-year-old filly Shea D Summer got career stakes win number two Saturday at Gulfstream Park with a 2 1/2-length score in the $75,000 Game Face S.

Assuming command right from the outset of the 6 1/2-furlong contest, Shea D Summer led the field through a quarter in :22.45 and a half-mile in :45.17. Up by a length at the top of the stretch, the dark bay filly extended her lead in the stretch and stopped the timer in 1:17.17 on a fast track.

Owned by the Shea D Boy’s Stable, Shea D Summer annexed  the Juvenile Fillies Sprint S. at Gulfstream last November in what was her stakes debut. She is now 3-1-0 in six starts and has earned $121,036.

Shea D Summer was bred in Florida by Ocala Stud and is from the same family as Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Flanders.

Summer Front’s progeny have earned over $1 million to date in 2021. He is arguably the hottest Third-Crop sire over the past week. In addition to Shea D Summer’s win, he was represented Saturday by $150,000 Monmouth S. (G3) runner-up Winters Back and last weekend’s Pennine Ridge (G3) third-place finisher Shawdyshawdyshawdy.
