INDIAN CHARLIE IS ON HIS WAY!

March 12, 2004 Gulfstream Park, $32,000 MSW 7 f.

LIFESTYLE has had an interesting start. He was bred by Dr. Robert Fishman (Ky) and is a grandson of the good turf mare Yesterday’s Kisses (D’Accord). First sold as a weanling for $100,000 at the Keeneland November sales; he was next sold as a yearling for $1.3 million to the Thoroughbred Corporation at the Keeneland September sale. He was put into training but had not started when he went through the ring again at Barrett’s March sale during the dispersal of The Thoroughbred Corporation’s racing stock, bringing $300,000.

In his belated debut, LIFESTYLE went off as the favorite. LIFESTYLE moved along the inside to eventually overtake his rivals leaving them in his wake by 9 3/4 lengths and stopping the clock at 1:22-2 fst. Congratulations to owners R & R King Stables and Ward; as well as trainer Wesley A. Ward.

TAGHKANIC broke her maiden by 9 1/2 lengths over this track back in early November at 7 furlongs. Next time out she won again by 3 1/4 lengths, this time against allowance competition over 1 mile. In January she made two starts at 8 1/2 and 9 furlongs, but did not hit the board. Making her stakes debut, TAGHKANIC had a rough start, she rallied gamely four wide to finish a strong second against other New York breds.
