Majesticperfection filly zips to victory in Keeneland debut

Another top-class 2-year-old by Majesticperfection had her unveiling Thursday at Keeneland when the filly Perfect Wife turned in a flawless performance to take the six-furlong maiden special weight affair in a quick 1:10.84.

Trained by Ken McPeek for Fern Circle Stables, Perfect Wife was away in good order, tracking the pacesetters for three furlongs before moving for the lead three-wide on the turn without being asked by her rider Corey Lanerie. Shifting to the fence after making the lead, Perfect Wife dug in gamely through the final furlong to hold off a late charge by Excessivespending to win by a half-length (VIDEO).

Bred in Kentucky by Mr. & Mrs. Nick Bentley, Perfect Wife is the first foal out of Crozat, an unraced half-sister to graded stakes winner Jungle Prince.

Majesticperfection’s current crop of 2-year-olds have produced 10 winners, led by Syndergaard, the Grade 1-placed colt who is set to contest next weekend’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Santa Anita Park.
