MAKING HAY: HAYNESFIELD’S FIRST-CROP 3-YEAR-OLDS FIRING BIG IN 2016

It stands to reason that the progeny of a Grade 1 Jockey Club winning son of Speightstown would only get better with age, and that certainly seems to be the case with the first-crop 3-year-olds by the surging Haynesfield.  This past Sunday saw two impressive winners for the young Airdrie sire, as Bistraya passed his first two-turn test with flying colors in besting a typically tough group in a Maiden Special Weight at Santa Anita.  That same afternoon, Brerry ran his record to a perfect two-for-two going a route of ground as he easily took an allowance at Tampa.  The impressive win seems to have him poised to take on stakes horses in his next trip to the post.  In all, Haynesfield has five winners already in 2016 and sits in 3rd place on the 2016 Second-Crop Sire List.  With a license to continue to improve with age, it appears Haynesfield has every chance to only build on his fast start to the new year.
