Net Gain, a 5-year-old son of Include, uncorked a last-to-first rally to take Saturday’s $65,000 Cyclones H. at Prairie Meadows.
The victory was Net Gain’s second stakes win and upped his lifetime earnings to $274,064 for owner Claim to Fame Stable.
Grade 1 winner Samba Inc and Grade 3 winner All Included are among Include’s 15 stakes horses of 2017.
Net Gain needed all of the Prairie Meadows stretch to overtake One Fine Dream in the final strides, winning by a head in 1:43.38 for the 1 1/16-miles. The bay was in eighth and last for the first five furlongs, but a big five-wide move carried him to the win (VIDEO).
Winner of the Iowa Breeders’ Derby two years ago, Net Gain now sports a record of 5-4-5 in 24 starts.
