PROUD SPELL debuted with a professional half length victory from off the pace a little less than a month ago at this track and was sent off the favorite. Content to stalk the pace for a half, Proud Spell bid three wide in to the stretch, took command at the eighth poll and pulled clear as much the best. Home in 1:09 flat after fractions of :21.3 and :44.3, she was five lengths clear at the wire.
