Results remain strong for Cairo Prince Wednesday at Keeneland


Cairo Prince, the second-leading First-Crop sire of yearlings with his average of $218,863, had another stellar day during Wednesday’s session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale when a filly by the Airdrie stallion brought a winning bid of $475,000.

Woods Edge Farm consigned the filly, hip No. 562, with Frank Brothers, agent for Starlight Racing, the winning bidder.

The filly is the second foal out of Gazelle S. (G1) winner No Such Word, who won a total of four graded stakes and $653,213. 

Through the first three days of the sale, Cairo Prince has had five lots sell for an average of $359,000. He has a total of 54 lots in the sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
