Grade 1 winner DEPUTY COMMANDER sired three Grade 1 horses in his first crop and has another possible Grade 1 star looming late from that same crop.
Sunday June 19th at Woodbine, $58,800 MSW, 7 furlongs.
The track announcer said LA TRILLIUM (4yo f. Deputy Commander/Tenacite) was under a “strong hold” the entire race and could have won by 20 lengths.
La Trillium had trained very forwardly under Paul Nielsen at Fort Erie and although making a belated debut she made a complete mockery of the rest of this field. Always within striking distance she dragged jockey Slade Callaghan to the front coming off the turn and kicked clear to win by an impressive 11 1/2 lengths.
Congratulations to Owners Jasmine Stables and to breeder Percy Harcourt who’s mare Tenacite is back in foal to Deputy Commander for a 2005 foal.
