SIPHONIZER won the G2 Del Mar Futurity in his third start as a 2YO in 2003 but he did not fair well in his final start of the year in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Returning after throat surgery and a five month layoff SIPHONIZER took the lead by the half and never looked back winning by 6 3/4 lengths, stopping the clock at 1:09.96 (Beyer of 104).
The dark bay colt was a $140,000 KEENOV weanling and a $275,000 FTKJUL yearling. He is out of the Northern Prospect mare, Thesky’sthelimit and was bred in Kentucky by B. C. Jones.
