Del Mar, August 16th, 2nd Race 2yo MSW for Fillies:
After a hop and a stumble at the start, Tarlow exhibited an amazing show of strength and speed to overcome a huge 13 length deficit to win this 6 furlong event by 3/4 length.
As Stormin Fever‘s 6th winner, this dark bay filly was still 6th at the 1/2 pole, accelerated past her rivals to finish in 1:10.3 – – a full second faster than the colt 2yo maiden race at the same distance later on the same day!
Her fractions indicated her willingness to find the lead and despite the slow start she ran a second quarter in 21 4/5 in her bid to blow by the other horses in the field.
