Second away from the start, Yankee Gentleman’s talented daughter Southern Yankee left no doubters going into the turn as she sprinted away from the field en route to an effortless 9 1/2 length win. Despite not being asked through the lane, the 3-year-old filly earned a strong 89 Beyer speed figure in capturing her third stakes victory in what continues to be a career on a decided upswing.
