Summer Front’s Run Curtis Run undefeated after first stakes win

Run Curtis Run scored his second win in as many starts in Wednesday’s $100,000 Rick Violette S. at Saragota, pulling away at the top of the stretch to win by 3 3/4-lengths.

The 2-year-old bay, who had won his July 2 debut at Belmont, led all the way in Wednesday’s six-furlong race. He was pressed through the first half-mile by Ready A. P., then dispatched her with ease to come home an easy winner.

“He has some natural speed and with him drawing the inside post, it wasn’t that hard to figure out in a small field,” winning trainer Mike Maker said. “Most likely, we’ll go on to the Funny Cide [Aug. 27 at Saratoga].”

Run Curtis Run is owned by Michael Dubb and Michael Caruso and has earned $96,250 in his two victories.

The winner was bred by Larry Goichman and is out of the stakes winner My Magic Moment.

Summer Front, who stood the 2021 season for $10,000 S&N, is a top-10 Third-Crop sire by stakes horses with six to date.
