SUPERMAN Gets the Job Done!

With his whip along for the ride, Pat Day guided Ten Most Wanted past his rivals in the G2 $500,000 Louisiana Downs Super Derby on Saturday in a hand ride to win by 1/2 length!

After a leisurely break from the inside post and a gallop along the rail, Ten Most Wanted moved to the outside, battled momentarily with previously-undefeated Soto, then inched past to take command. He used just enough effort to win, which looked more like a well-attended public workout!

Following in his father’s footsteps, this son of Deputy Commander is now on track for an appearance in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic on October 25th at Santa Anita. Trainer Wally Dollase is not shy about comparing this newer version to his sire, who he also trained through a brilliant career.

After winning the Travers and Super Derby, Deputy Commander was 2nd to Skip Away in the Breeders’ Cup Classic….maybe Ten Most Wanted can slightly improve upon that finish!!
