THE INCREDIBLE ISTAN: KEEP CROSSING NEWEST STAKES WINNER FOR AIRDRIE’S HIDDEN JEWEL

As our newest Istan ad reads: It’s time to pay attention.  Despite never having the large book sizes of many of his contemporaries, Istan has continually overcome his lack of numbers by siring the quality of a much higher-priced stallion.  Now with just 76 foals aged 3 and up, Istan has been represented by 4 individual graded stakes winners, a new listed winner in Keep Crossing and the brilliant, undefeated Chief Istan who registered a triple digit Beyer at Keeneland in winning in hugely impressive fashion.  The Airdrie homebred Keep Crossing, an easy 3-Length winner of Monmouth Park’s Red Cross Stakes on June 20th, becomes Istan’s 3rd stakes winner from his 4-year-old cop- an incredible number given that the entire crop consists of just 12 named foals and also includes the very talented graded stakes colt Myositis Dan.  With an identical strike rate of graded takes winners to foals as the great Tapit and hugely impressive AE Index to Comp Index figures of 1.48 to 1.29, it has become clear that Istan is a seriously talented stallion that is poised for a major breakout as his mare numbers continue to increase.
