Upstart filly wins second straight in Fair Grounds allowance

Zoom Up powered home a two-length allowance winner Jan. 18 at Fair Grounds to give the 3-year-old Upstart filly her second consecutive victory (VIDEO).

Making her first start around two turns, the dark bay assumed command at the top of the stretch after stalking in third through six furlongs. She drew away handily to get the 1 mile and 70 yards in 1:43.95 on the fast main track.

Trained by Tom Amoss for Cosmic Racing LLC, Zoom Up has earned $84,600. She is a half-sister to the graded stakes-placed What’sontheagenda. Bred by Lantern Hill Farm in Kentucky, Zoom Up sold for $75,000 at the 2020 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.

Upstart was a top-10 First-Crop sire of 2020 with 18 winners and nearly $1 million in progeny earnings. He is standing this year at Airdrie for $10,000 S&N.
