EZ’s Gentleman, a $240,000 Barretts March 2YO purchase, pulled away from a top class field at Del Mar for trainer Ron McAnally. Breaking from post 9 in the 12 horse field the colt chased from the rear, was shifted into top gear on the turn and swung four wide into the stretch. In a superb run for the wire the colt passed rivals in deep stretch and drew off for a 1/2 length tally.
Yankee Gentleman is moving up the freshman sire list with 2 Del Mar winners and recent winners at Belmont and Delaware.
